Frequently Asked Questions

Starting something new during such a challenging time takes courage.

You likely have questions about how divorce coaching works and whether it's right for you. Below are answers to the most common questions I receive from people considering divorce coaching.

If you don't see your question answered here, I welcome you to bring it up during a free Discovery Call.

  • Yes! I offer a free 45-minute Discovery Call to discuss your situation and explore how coaching might help. This conversation gives you a chance to ask questions, learn about my approach, and determine if we're a good fit to work together. There's no obligation to continue beyond this initial call.

  • This is exactly the right time to work with a coach. I help many clients gain clarity about this important decision, exploring all aspects thoughtfully before taking any irreversible steps. We'll create space to examine your concerns, understand your options, and make decisions that align with your values and long-term well-being.

  • Not at all. In fact, getting support immediately can help you navigate these critical early days with greater clarity and purpose. I can help you understand your immediate priorities, manage urgent decisions, and create stability during this challenging transition. Early support often helps prevent costly mistakes made during emotional times.

  • Yes. Our work together is completely confidential, and many clients choose to work with me privately. This can be particularly helpful when you're exploring options or need support processing your thoughts before having difficult conversations. I understand that privacy extends to financial matters as well, and we can discuss flexible payment options that protect your confidentiality.

  • I am a CDC Certified Divorce Coach® and a Certified Health & Wellbeing Coach®. These certifications include extensive training in divorce processes, communication strategies, emotional support, and co-parenting guidance. I regularly participate in continuing education to stay current with best practices in divorce coaching.

  • I work with clients both locally in the Charlotte, NC area and worldwide via Zoom video conferencing. Sessions are typically available during business hours (Eastern Time), but I offer evening and weekend appointments when needed, particularly for urgent situations. Virtual sessions provide flexibility and privacy, allowing you to connect from wherever you feel most comfortable.

  • My coaching fees are about half the hourly rate of a divorce attorney. I offer two main packages: a three-session Clarity Package for specific challenges, and a six-month Comprehensive Support package for ongoing guidance. We can discuss which option best fits your needs during our Discovery Call.

  • Yes! I provide several free resources to help you get started, including:

  • The earlier in the process, the better. Early support helps you avoid common mistakes, make better decisions, and use other professional services more efficiently. However, coaching can be valuable at any stage of the divorce process - even if you're just beginning to consider divorce or are already in the middle of proceedings.

  • While therapy often focuses on healing past trauma and exploring emotional patterns, divorce coaching is present and future-focused. Therapy can be particularly valuable for individuals dealing with abuse, addiction, affairs, or mental health concerns in their relationship. As your coach, I help you navigate the social and emotional aspects of divorce so you can better engage with the legal and financial process and achieve the best possible outcome for you and your family. Many clients work with both a therapist and a divorce coach, as the support is complementary.
